Welcome!

Welcome to this majestic and magical children's building on the corner of Orange and Wall Streets in downtown New Haven. In the Connecticut Children's Museum, there are eight thematic and community-inspired exhibits. There are also books to enrich each exhibit and a variety of textures and languages to support absolute accessibility.

The Museum is the proud home of the NAEYC-accredited Creating Kids Childcare Center and the Early Childhood Resource Center for Greater New Haven.

Our Passions

We are more than a museum!

The museum is housed in a historic and recently renovated building within the cultural 'corridor' of the city's Town Green District. This central location bridges the New Haven Green, the downtown business area, and the arts district of Audubon Street. It is easily accessible to all!

The center is dedicated to serving the needs of children and their families in an urban setting. A full-time, year-round program provides families with the childcare they need. The children spend their day with a small group in a stimulating environment designed for learning and loving. It is a center that supports the development of creative teachers and children.

The museum's Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) is an early childhood education Quality Enhancement training project supported by the New Haven Board of Education's School Readiness Initiative. We offer free, bilingual professional development workshops and curriculum materials to early childhood educators from Greater New Haven.
